You may wonder why movies require a substantial investment. Here are the key personnel necessary for most documentaries: writer, director, producer, cinematographer, sound/boom operator, editor, line producer, historian, narrator, archive researcher, transcriber, translator, and production assistant.

In addition, certain budget items are also mandatory for most film shoots: camera, lighting, and sound equipment; archive footage and transfer fees; lab and post-production costs; crew’s travel and shipping of equipment; production insurance; film’s opening title, artwork, and credit list; sound and music expenses.

These two lists above give you an idea of how many components are needed for a professional film. That being said, I do everything in my power to keep the costs down for your LEGACY FILM. One way of doing that is that I’ll do several of the creative jobs myself.

There are two major phases of a LEGACY FILM: 1. Discovery 2. Production

Discovery will take 2-3 months and the investment in relations to the entire budget is minimal and without any additional obligation on your part.

We can start this process anytime and it can be done remotely. I’ll go through the basics with you such as what kind of a film YOU want me to make for you, your personal history, the length and locations of your LEGACY FILM, number of interviewees, special requests, etc.

Based on the information, I’ll write an outline for the project and create a budget specific to your individualized LEGACY FILM.

You then can decide whether you’d like to move forward and commit to the next phase.

If you do, then we move into Production which consists of three sub-phases:

• pre-production

• production, and

• post-production.

Given the current changes in the world, if you’d prefer, we can also now do the interviews remotely and without live interaction. How we proceed is 100% up to you. What matters to me that you feel comfortable and safe during the entire process.

Once we have shot the interviews, we move into editing and before you know it, you’ll be getting ready for a real red carpet premiere at a luxurious and private movie theater with plush seats celebrating your achievements.

How large of an opening party you want to throw and whom you want to invite will be up to you. Whatever you decide, we’ll do all the work for you so that you can have your own “Hollywood night” that neither you nor any of your guests will ever forget.

The additional good news is once you have your own LEGACY FILM completed, you can show it to news outlets, book publishers, or broadcasters.
